Perry-McCall to build College of Aviation Phase II at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Aug. 5, 2008 - (Jacksonville, Fla.) Perry-McCall was selected to build Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's College of Aviation Phase II on the University's Daytona Beach, Fla., campus. The project is expected to be completed spring 2011.
The $23 million, multi-phase construction management project will add new instructional and aircraft maintenance space to the University’s existing College of Aviation complex including a 45,000 sq. ft. Operation/Classroom Building, a 35,000 sq. ft. Aviation Maintenance Science/Lab Building, and a 16,000 sq. ft. Fleet Maintenance Hangar to replace the hangar destroyed by a 2006 tornado.
Perry-McCall will demolish the Gill Robb Wilson Flight Center that was built in 1971 to make room for the new buildings, as well as perform site utility improvements and renovations to the existing adjacent structures.
“We’re proud to be selected as a trusted building partner of Embry-Riddle,” said Wayne S. McCall, CEO and co-founder of Perry-McCall. His firm recently completed the University's new 50,000 sq. ft. College of Business building in spring 2008, which was constructed near the proposed project site. “The College of Business was a tremendous success, and we are looking forward to continuing our relationship with the University on the College of Aviation Phase II project.”
