Description:
The Jacksonville Equestrian Center and Cecil Recreation Complex includes a 4,000-seat equestrian arena, Olympic and warm-up swimming pools (the City's first Olympic-size indoor, heated pool with a full dehumidification system), and a women's fast-pitch softball complex complete with four regulation fields, and full concessions and bleacher seating. This site was formerly a U.S. Navy base (NAS Cecil Field) and was closed in mid-2000 and the land divided between the City of Jacksonville and the U.S. Navy. The property was renovated as part of the City of Jacksonville's Better Jacksonville Plan (a massive, multi-year, multi-billion dollar improvement plan in which Perry-McCall was awarded three high-profile projects).
