Description:
The Central Riverside Elementary School was a complex project which involved the restoration of an existing two-story historic building and the addition of three new buildings to match the existing campus. An entire city block was demolished to add needed site acreage while the infrastructure was totally reworked to facilitate the new buildings. The new additions were constructed using one-story masonry bearing walls with steel joists and metal decks with shingle roofs. The existing building renovation included wood trusses at the entrance to create a new hip roof line.
