Description:
Pedro Menendez High School was designed for a capacity of 1,200 students and built to relieve the overcrowding at St. Johns County high schools. The school features a 500-seat performing arts auditorium; computer, biology, chemistry and physics labs; a multi-media center; television, photo and art studios; a full service cafeteria; and a 1,500-seat gymnasium also constructed to serve as a hurricane shelter. This project was completed on schedule and in budget while at the same time receiving superior marks and praise for the high quality of construction from school and building officials.
