This $3.2 million project consists of the complete interior demolition and rebuilding of the 11,200 sq. ft. former Child Crisis Center Building to provide nine complete laboratory suites, tissue culture area, dark room/microcopy area, PI offices, grad student tech area, new stairs and an elevator. All existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were removed and replaced with new systems, which included upgrading to a 480 volt system. The existing heating and ventilation system was changed from roof top units to a chilled and heated water system. A new emergency generator was added along with a new fire sprinkler system. The labs included state-of-the-art lab furnishings, lab case work and new fume hoods with extensive exhaust systems.
