Description:
Located on the waters edge of Marineland near St. Augustine amidst virtually every coastal habitat in Florida, this educational facility offers a learning experience to a wide range of students. A day at the Whitney Lab delivers an exciting look at marine science to children from grades 3 to 7 as they view local marine species in the research labs or in their own natural habitat. Evenings at Whitney Lab offer a monthly public lecture series that enables the local community to remain current on issues in the marine and biological sciences. This facility houses a 260-person auditorium, several dedicated classrooms, laboratories with aquatic tanks for marine specimens, and public exhibition space.
