BAPTIST HEALTH – CLAY OUTPATIENT CENTER

PROJECT INFORMATION:
Project: Baptist Medical Center – Clay Outpatient Center
Location: Fleming Island, Florida
Owner: Baptist Health Systems
Construction Cost: $11.9 Million
Project Size: 26,272 SF
Completion: April 2013

After years of planning, the new Clay County campus of Baptist Health, located on a 32-acre parcel in Fleming Island, is a reality. In June 2012, Perry-McCall Construction was awarded, under separate contracts, both the outpatient facility and the neighboring 3-story Medical Office Building.

Both buildings are structural steel frames with metal stud in-fill, veneered in cultured stone and stucco. While part of a single campus, the outpatient center was managed directly by the facilities group at Baptist Health, while a developer, Meadows & Ohly, acted as the owner’s program manager for construction of the Medical Office Building.

The new free standing outpatient center services both children and adults and includes 16 exam rooms, a full complement of imaging, including X-Ray, MRI, CT, digital mammography, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy that serves both emergency patients as well as those referred by their physician’s office.

Despite poor on-site conditions which were compounded by above average (3X) rainfall during construction, the facility opened on time, going operational on May 1, 2013, much to the delight of the entire Baptist Health team and the residents of Clay County.
