PROJECT INFORMATION:
Project: St. Johns River State College – Health Science Building
Location: St. Augustine, Florida
Owner: St. Johns River State College
Construction Cost: $4.97 Million
Project Size: 32,000 SF
Completion: November 2010

The new 2-story Health Science Building on the St. Augustine campus of SJRSC, was constructed of load bearing CMU and structural steel. The interior is constructed of non-load bearing gypsum wallboard assemblies and features polished concrete, ceramic tile, and carpet tile flooring. The classrooms are set up for x-ray and respiratory care instruction, including mock patient rooms for training.

In order to meet the Green Globes standards, the building design incorporates sustainable components such as white reflective roofing, an abundance of natural day lighting, de-constructible elements and practices, low VOC materials (i.e., polished concrete flooring), a new energy-efficient chiller plant, occupancy sensors for lighting and space comfort, CO2 monitoring, and energy efficient lighting techniques.
